Jon J. Schrotenboer Grand Rapids, Michigan
Jon J. Schrotenboer was born and raised in Zeeland, Michigan. He graduated from Zeeland High School in 1974 where he was very active in high school sports. He then attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan where he majored in business administration and economics and was a member of the Cosmopolitan Fraternity. After graduating from Hope College with a B.A. degree in 1978, he attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where he received his Juris Doctorate degree, with distinction in 1982. Jon then practiced civil litigation with a large law firm in Grand Rapids. In 1986, he then joined the firm of Nelson & Kreuger in which he subsequently became a partner. Jon was admitted to the State Bar of Michigan in 1982, the U.S. District Court Western District of Michigan in 1982, and U.S. Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit in 1999. His professional memberships include: The American Bar Association, Grand Rapids Bar Association, Ottawa County Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, and the West Michigan Defense Association. Jon has extensive experience in handling a wide variety of civil litigation on behalf of individuals, companies, insurance companies, self-insured companies, and self-insured associations. This litigation experience has included handling products, construction, commercial, auto and general liability cases, as well as handling insurance coverage and subrogation cases. Jon lives in Hudsonville where he attends Fairhaven Ministries and has been active in coaching Little League teams. He and his wife, Lisa, have two children, Brian and Molly.
